Zeus Interaction

Since version 1.025 (of this tool) the inserted emitters feature some Zeus interaction whereas in prior version the emitter could not be interacted in the Zeus interface at all.

The interactions are quite basic but at least they can be interacted with.

Zeus interaction as a whole can be toggled on/off from the tool's Prefs leaf. Self-explanatory really:

  • Emitters editable for Zeus: toggles on/off the whole interaction globally, on by default.
  • Show emitter names for Zeus: toggles showing the emitter names in the Zeus interface (shown the same way as in Eden 3D area.) Available only if the previous Zeus interaction is toggled on.
Names can also be toggled on/off while in Zeus interface by pressing ALT+N on your keyboard.

By default the interactions are available for all Zeus' present in the scenario regardless of side and all Zeus' will see the interactions happen (as well as all non-Zeus players obviously).
You can limit the particle availability by referring them to a specific Zeus, or multiple specific Zeus'. Or disable given emitter/emitter set from being available.

This happens in the Special leaf, in which you can find:

  • Enable for Zeus
Self-explanatory, when this box is checked the currently selected emitter/emitter set will be editable for Zeus/Zeus'.
  • Only for Zeus
By entering the name (Variable Name) of the wanted Zeus module(s) in this field will limit the emitter/emitter set to that specific Zeus.
Or multiple Zeus' in which case separate the names with a semicolon but do not leave a space in between the semicolon and the next Zeus name (example: Zeus1;Zeus2;Zeus3)

Interacting while in Zeus interface:

  • Moving emitters
Basically works like in Eden without the object surface snapping. Emitter sets will move as a whole. “Attribute emitters” or emitters attached to an object can not be moved, they follow the object they are associated with.
  • Toggling emitting
You can toggle the emitters on/off like in Eden. Emitter sets will toggle on/off as a whole. Toggling is done by holding down ALT on your keyboard and right-clicking the desired emitter (with mouse, obviously).
When toggled off the emitter name(s) will turn red.
Trigger synchronized emitters will not start emitting if trigger activates and the emitter/emitter set is toggled off
  • Deleting emitters
Works like deleting other Zeus editable objects. Emitter sets get deleted as a whole.
